Rates charged by the Meadowbrook Water District (“MWD”) and Meadowbrook Fairview Metropolitan District (“MFMD”) must be sufficient to cover the Districts’ respective operations, as well as the costs of maintaining and, when necessary, replacing, the Districts’ aging infrastructure. Operating costs are reviewed and budgeted annually, and capital replacement and reserve amounts have been determined through a comprehensive capital reserve study. Many of you have seen your expenses increase over the last few years, and the Districts are no different (MWD in particular, as its water acquisition costs continue to go up). As a result, for 2025, the Meadowbrook Water District determined that a 10% rate increase is necessary in order to fund the District’s necessary operating and capital requirements (including adequate capital reserves). MFMD was able to forego a rate increase this year (primarily because sewer treatment charges are invoiced separately). Please feel free to email MWD at office@meadowbrookwaterdistrict.com if you have any questions.
